Junior 5 Revision

Junior 5 Revision

Hello all,

I hope this post finds you well.  As you very well know, exams are round the corner and we have already started with the grammar revision.  These are the Junior English pages to be covered : pgs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 13, 15, 16, 17, 19, 23, 26, 27, 28, 34, 37, 38, 43, 45, 47 and 53.

We will be discussing the different genres of writing that we have covered so far as something similar might appear in one of the titles.

I will be giving the copybooks back for them to revise.

Please note that as in previous years, the mid-yearly exam is only one paper which carries a composition (150 words), comprehension and exercises.

Children are to come to the exam prepared with either 2 foolscaps or 4 A4 papers with paperclips or a stapler.  Each page should have 2 margins – one narrow one on the left-hand side and a double margin on the right-hand side  (for mark allocation) .

I hope you find this information, useful.  Should you need anything, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind Regards,

Ms Vanessa

Jun 4 Revision

Jun 4 Revision

Hello all,

I hope this post finds you well.  As you know exams are round the corner and most of you have already started revising with your children.  Today we started revision as well so NO new work will be given from now on.  What I am doing is, going over every topic we did from the Junior English and giving them a few sentences from each for HW.

Junior English pages to be covered are these: 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 21, 23, 27, 29, 40, 43, 44 and 59.

Creative writing: we have already discussed in class the different genres of creative writing we have covered.  Children are to go over their previous work just to get an idea.

Exam paper layout.  Please note that for the mid-yearly exam, there is only one paper with a  composition (3 titles to choose one) , Comprehension and exercises.

Children are to bring either 2 foolscaps or 4 A4 file papers with paperclips or a stapler with them on the day.  Please note that there should be two margins on each page – a single margin on the left-hand side and a double margin on the right-hand side (for mark allocation).

I hope that this has been helpful.  Should you need anything, please let me know.

Kind Regards

Ms Vanessa

Add -ed to verb pgs 29,33, 34 and 39

Past tense change of word pg 56

Dictation words to revise ALL words from previous dictations – this dictation will be given on Tuesday 31st January (if I leave it  for the following week I might be busy with exams of Jun 4s and 5)  This dictation assessment will not be included in the timetable with the other assessments and so has to be done beforehand.

Creative Writing.  Please go over previous work, however a totally new title will be given   (similar to what we have done).   Will be giving back their copybooks .
