school outing this Friday!

school outing this Friday!
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As part of the outings programme, we have planned to take the Junior 3 and Junior 4 classes for a visit to the Animal Farm within the Montekristo Estate in Hal Farrug.  The farm houses horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, cows, chickens and others, all in state-of-the-art stables and pens.  Our students will have the opportunity to see and learn about these farm animals as well as other animals.  The experience is further enhanced as our students will actually get a chance to ride ponies or donkeys after being equipped with all safety gear which the Estate supplies.
The outing will take place this Friday, 2nd March, and is geared for the Junior 3 and Junior 4 students.  The students will be accompanied by their respective teachers.  The fee is of €9.00 which includes the admission fee and the transport fee. The admission fee includes also a packed lunch.
You are kindly requested to send the outing fee – in a sealed envelope with your son/daughter’s name and the respective Junior class clearly written on it – to the class teacher by not later than Friday 2nd March.  It is the School policy that, in the case of students who have paid the fee and are absent on the day of the outing, only the admission fee will be reimbursed.
On the day of the outing students must come in their PE Kit and bring their normal lunch and drink with them.
The outing will only take place weather permitting.  Therefore, students are still expected to bring with them their books for the Friday timetable.
Whilst thanking you in advance, please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any query.
Sincerely yours,

Multi-Activity Marathon

Thursday 24th November 2011

Dear Parents,

As is customary, this year we will be organising our annual Multi-Activity Marathon Day on Thursday 24th November. Following last year’s success, this year the classes will have a combination of activities on the day. All students from Pre-Junior to Junior 6 will have a day brimming with activities which will include treasure hunts, walks in the countryside of the Madliena area, stations of games and sports and picnic times in the Pembroke Area. This will be a day of fun and exercise for all our students.

Students from Junior 3 upwards are expected to come in their Winter PE kit – ie. the jogging suit and PE t-shirt and jogging shoes, whilst the Pre Junior to the Junior 2 students are to come wearing their usual orange and blue jogging suit and blue shoes. Parents are to provide students with drinks and a good packed lunch on the day. The School Canteen will be open during the morning as usual. Students are still to bring their school bag just in case of bad weather (since we will be having normal lessons if the weather is bad).

The Multi-Activity Marathon day is also a day when we collect money in aid of school facilities – this year, we are proud to announce that the money collected will go towards the purchase of new tables and chairs for the Junior 2s, 4s, and 6s which cost the school around €6000 in total! As such, it is important that your son/daughter is encouraged to ask his/her relatives, friends and family to donate some money to ‘sponsor’ him/her for the Multi-Activity Marathon Day. We are thus attaching the Marathon Day Sponsor Sheet which needs to be filled in with the name of the sponsor and the amount given. All Sponsor Sheets need to be returned to Mr. Midolo’s office (with the money collected) by not later than Wednesday 30th November 2011.

Please note that the three students who will have collected most money will be awarded a prize to commemorate this achievement! So let us encourage our children to collect money to help the School improve our facilities and reach the mark of €6000 needed to reach our targets!

Let us make this day a fun one for our students …. And let us collect money to help our School continue to be the nice place it is for our children to learn! Thank you for your collaboration!

Kindly note that the After-School programme will start as of October 3rd except for some of the activities. Session dates will be announced in the acknowledgement letter which will be given upon registration and payment. As much as possible activities will be held on the specified day of the week; however, in the case of those dates which clash with events scheduled in the School Calendar or with public/national/school holidays, we will find an alternative day.
